Volleyball Life.com is designed to be the kind of website that I’ve always wanted to be able to find and couldn’t. It includes:
I’m a 17-year volleyball veteran who loves the game and loves talking about it. Back in my younger days I played Junior Olympic volleyball out in West Texas for six years and high school volleyball for all four years (two on varsity, one of those we went undefeated in district play). In college I transitioned from being the short defensive specialist to being the short setter for Austin College, my NCAA Division III three team, and I’ve been setting ever since.
After I finished my undergraduate degree I headed overseas to Oxford University, where I set for the varsity team that defeated Cambridge (shoe the tabs!) during the 2004-2005 season. I also played in a tournament in Spain during my European tour.
Now that my sort of “official” volleyball career is over I’m enjoying playing recreational leagues, USAV tournaments and coaching, as well as writing this blog. I think that anybody can be a great volleyball player at any age, and I hope this site helps people improve their skills and find good information!
